Sixth Weekend - Washington-Bred Winners

Things have gotten out of hand in the Brewer household. After the Preakness Superfecta hit, the kids were demanding upgrades around the house. I take care of them, but this is a little ridiculous:

It was only an $83.80 profit. The dog and cat figured out my Betemerald password, so I need to change it soon

A few things of note:

    (1) Washington-bred horses accounted for 99 out of the 162 horses entered last weekend.
    (2) Washington-breds won 13 of the 26 thoroughbred races last weekend.
    (3) Raise the Bluff had 3 wins. Cahill Road, Harbor the Gold and Liberty Gold had two wins a piece.
    (4) All 5 horses in Sunday's Stakes Race were Washington-breds.

Race 1 Saturday: The first two-year-old race of the season was won by Preachinattheforum in 52.47 for 4.5 Furlongs.  Congrats to the Pulses on Preachinatthebar’s first Washington-bred winner.  Preachinatthebar stands at Pulse Ranch in Yakima:

A nice start for him.

Preachinattheforum is out of Mighty Forum (Open Forum), who was bred back to Preachinatthebar in 2014. Best of luck moving forward!

Race 5 Saturday: Won by Wave Rider in 1:10.46. By Cahill Road out of Wavy Lace (Salt Lake), Wave Rider was bred by WTBOA President Dana Halvorson.

Race 6 Saturday: Won by Nobluffjustgo in 1:17.85. By Raise the Bluff and out of Can I Go (Darn that Alarm), Nobluffjustgo benefitted from a great ride by Rocco Bowen. Nobluffjustgo was bred by Bob and Marilyn Wulff.

Race 7 Saturday:  Won by He’s a Cruiser in 1:36.50 for 8 Furlongs. By Raise the Bluff out of Designer’s Gold (Stolen Gold), He’s a Cruiser was bred by the Gibson’s.

Race 8 Saturday: Won by Belt, who I loved at the yearling sale, in 1:09.32.  Belt is by Cahill Road out of La Mariah (Country Light). As I stated previously in my blog:

“Race 8 Saturday:  I simply have no idea why Belt only cost $8,500 at the 2011 WTBOA sale. He should have sold for at least twice that amount. I reviewed my notes and he was one of my favorite colts in the sale. He was big, beautiful and athletic looking. Belt is by Cahill Road (my boy) out of La Mariah (Country Light). La Mariah does not get enough respect. She’s had 5 horses sold that have raced (the only one not to race yet is a two-year old name Hoodslide (Nationhood) so that is excusable considering it is April). The total purchase price of those 5 horses was a combined $35,700. Total earnings to date for these 5 horses is over $144,000. In fact, all 5 of these horses have earned back well over their purchase price. The second dam is Windsong Maria who was a multiple stakes winner and won almost $140,000.”
